2019

From a stage music to a concert music.

After Hourya-حورية, a decisive turning point that would deeply shape his identity as a man and artist, Mehdi Trabelsi returned to Paris in 2018 after spending four years in Tunisia. During this time, he not only composed music and learned Arabic, but also rediscovered his country of origin through his own experiences.

This transformative period pushed him to seek a musical language where Western classical music would harmonize with the sounds and colors of the Arabic language and music.

This quest for a music that would unite these two worlds crystallized through the development of the Hourya project. Mehdi Trabelsi questions his identity within it and seeks to define both his place and that of his music. Hourya (the album) thus marks the beginning of a natural and unprecedented fusion of his two cultures, rendering his music more intimate, more authentic.

After a year of intense development and rewriting the themes of the stage music, Hourya took on a new dimension as concert music. It was in February 2019 that the concert version of Hourya came to life, marking the culmination of a long creative process :

  1. Hourya

  2. Les portes de la ville (The city gates)

  3. Adam

  4. Un jour il parla (One day he spoke)

  5. La vague et l'exilé (The wave and the exile)

  6. Dans les yeux d'un fou (In the eyes of a madman)

  7. Tant que court le temps (As long as time runs)

  8. Des cheveux sous le voile (Hair under the veil)

  9. Martyr

  10. Regard sur demain (A look at tomorrow)

  11.  Leila Toubel conte Hourya(Leila Toubel tells Hourya)
