A song for Lorca…

“The Source of Tears” is an intimate work born from the encounter between Mehdi Trabelsi and the writing of Federico García Lorca, the sensitive poet and martyr of Spain. From his writing, which resonates like an inner song—a silent, profound voice that calls one to create—Mehdi Trabelsi conceived a project for a cycle of melodies.

This cycle of eight pieces delves into universal themes such as suffering, love, and death, which are central motifs in Lorca’s work. Through voice and piano, each poem becomes a window into humanity and its realities, where tears and beauty find their source.
