The Source of Tears

A song for Lorca…

The Source of Tears is an intimate work, born from a deep emotion during my encounter with the writings of Federico García Lorca, a sensitive poet and martyr of Spain. In 2020, as I delved into his poetry, I felt an immediate, visceral connection to the musicality of his words. Each verse seemed to speak like an inner song, a silent voice calling me to compose. This is how the project for this cycle of melodies began, driven to this day by the desire to translate the poetic power of Lorca through my own musical language.

This cycle of nine pieces explores universal themes such as suffering, love, and death, central motifs in Lorca’s work. Each poem, through voice and piano, becomes a window into humanity and its realities, where tears and beauty find their source.
